WEST & SON 12-BORE BOXLOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 4017, 28in. nitro barrels, the rib engraved 'WEST SON. 26, THE SQUARE, RETFORD.' and with a flash of acanthus scroll engraving at the breech-end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and full choke, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, carved oak leaf fences, border and partial acanthus scroll engraving surrounding the makers namer in a scrolling banner, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 15 3/4in. stock including 1 1/2in. wooden extension, weight 6lb. 13oz.
